That night, they journeyed as far as the uplands of Ceredigiawn, the place which for that reason is still called Mochdref, and the next day they pushed ahead. The next night they were between Ceri and Arwystli, a township now called Mochdref, then they came through the commots in Powys and Rhos now called Mochnant and Mochdref. They made for the upper township of Arllechwoedd in Gwynedd, and there a sty was made for the swine, and for that reason was the name Creuwryon given to the township. Then they made their way to Math son of Mathonwy at Caer Dathyl, where there was confusion of the country being mustered. And there they learned that Pryderi was mustering one-and-twenty cantrefs in pursuit of them.
With that they could hear the trumpets and gathering throughout the land. They too equipped themselves and went forth to Pennardd in Arfon.
That night Gwydion son of Don and Gilvaethwy his brother returned to Caer Dathyl, and Gilvaethwy and Goewin daughter of Pebin were put to sleep together in Math son of MathonwyÕs bed; and the maidens were roughly forced out, and she was lain with against her will that night.
